Key Takeaways
  • Shake Shack's expansion drove impressive double-digit visit growth in Q2 2026 while same-store traffic remained stable.
  • The share of frequent monthly visitors also increased, suggesting heightened brand engagement as the company grows its store fleet.

Visits to Shake Shack Increase by Double-Digits

Shake Shack traffic grew 20.6% year over year (YoY) in Q2 2026 while same-store visits increased an average of 0.8% every month between April and June – suggesting that the company's aggressive expansion is not cannibalizing traffic from existing locations.

Visitor Engagement on the Rise

A larger store fleet isn't the only factor driving Shake Shack traffic up. Analyzing loyalty metrics reveals that the share of consumers visiting Shake Shack locations at least twice a month also increased YoY every month of Q2 – indicating that the new customers discovering Shake Shack are coming back for more.

So even as beef prices sit near record highs, Shake Shack's traffic and loyalty metrics suggest that Shake Shack's demand side looks solidly positioned to help absorb the pressure building on the cost side of the model.
