Average Visits per Location

The total number of visits to all chain locations divided by the total number of chain locations.

Baseline Change in Visits

Represents the change in visit numbers relative to a specified timeframe, which can be a day, week, month, quarter, or year.

Cannibalization

Cannibalization occurs when foot traffic or revenue at a chain's store location drops as a result of opening an additional store nearby.

Captured Market

This metric is derived by determining the business's True Trade Area - i.e., the census block groups (CBGs) from which it draws its customers - and then weighting each CBG according to its share of visits to the chain or venue in question, reflecting the population that actually visits the location(s).

Cross-Shopping

Cross-shopping rates show the percentage of one property or chain's visitors who also visited another property or chain within a specified timeframe.
